Every roof cleaning project begins with a detailed drone inspection. Professional access equipment was installed to provide our technicians with a safe and controlled working platform around the roofline. This allowed the team to complete the work methodically while minimising unnecessary movement across the concrete tiles and protecting the roof throughout the cleaning process. Before cleaning began, we installed temporary filters over each gutter outlet to prevent dislodged moss and roof debris from entering and obstructing the downpipes. These protective guards allowed the gutters to collect the material removed during cleaning so it could be safely cleared away before the downpipes were checked at the end of the project. Using specialist roof-cleaning equipment and carefully controlled pressure, we removed the accumulated moss, dirt and organic build-up from the concrete tiles. Particular attention was given to tile edges, overlaps, valleys and other areas where moss and debris commonly collect. The cleaning process was adapted to the condition of the roof to achieve a thorough result without using unnecessarily aggressive methods. Following the cleaning process, the roof received an application of Chiltern EverGuard™, our professional surface protection treatment. Chiltern EverGuard™ penetrates the surface to help protect against the regrowth of moss, algae and lichen, keeping the surface cleaner for longer. Protection typically lasts between 12 and 24 months, depending on the property's location, surrounding environment and ongoing maintenance. The treatment continues working in the weeks and months following application, helping residual organic staining and established lichen gradually break down and release from the concrete tiles. Once the roof cleaning was complete, the temporary outlet filters were removed and all gutters were thoroughly cleared of the collected moss and debris. Each downpipe was then checked to ensure rainwater could drain freely away from the property, leaving the complete roof drainage system clean and functioning as intended.

To complete the project, we carried out a thorough clean-down of the surrounding areas, removing any remaining moss, debris and residue created during the roof-cleaning process. All affected windows, frames and exterior glass were then washed using purified water, leaving the client’s property as clean, tidy and presentable as possible before our team left site. The completed project left the roof considerably cleaner, professionally protected and continuing to improve as Chiltern EverGuard™ reaches its full effectiveness.
