Oxfordshire exterior cleaning FAQs

How far into Oxfordshire do you travel?

The south-east corner — Henley-on-Thames, Watlington, Nettlebed, Goring and the surrounding villages. Oxford itself is at the edge of what we can serve well, and we will tell you if you are outside it.

Is Oxfordshire stone different to work with?

Yes. The limestone and soft sandstone used across the county are porous and hold staining in the surface rather than on it, so they need a treatment with dwell time. Pressure takes the face off the stone and leaves it rougher and quicker to soil.

Can you clean thatch or the buildings around it?

We do not clean thatch — that is a thatcher's work. We do clean the walls, paving and hard surfaces around thatched properties, taking care to keep water and treatment off the roof itself.

Do you work on older village properties?

Regularly, and they set the method. Lime mortar, soft stone and old clay tile are all common here and all rule out pressure washing, so the work is done by soft washing and treatment.
