Exterior cleaning in Thame

Caring for Thame's Homes with the Right Cleaning Methods

Thame is a historic Oxfordshire market town with a distinctive mix of properties. Medieval buildings sit alongside Georgian and Victorian architecture in and around the town centre, while the wider residential areas include Victorian and Edwardian homes, established family properties and newer developments. Each building brings different exterior materials and maintenance needs, so every project begins with a careful surface assessment rather than a one-size-fits-all cleaning approach.

The countryside around Thame is relatively low-lying in places, particularly near the River Thame, and periods of wet weather can leave shaded exterior surfaces slow to dry. Moss, algae, lichen and black spot can gradually build up on roofs, patios, paving and walls, especially where there are mature trees, limited sunlight or sheltered areas. Using carefully selected soft washing treatments, controlled pressure washing and professional Chiltern EverGuard™ biocide applications where appropriate, we target the cause of organic growth instead of only removing what is visible.

Whether your property features older brickwork, clay or concrete roof tiles, natural stone paving, porcelain patios, block paving, resin driveways or rendered walls, we tailor the cleaning method to the material and condition. Our aim is to restore the appearance of your property while reducing unnecessary wear and helping exterior surfaces stay cleaner for longer.

Questions

Thame exterior cleaning FAQs

How often should exterior surfaces be professionally cleaned?

Most exterior surfaces benefit from professional cleaning every 2–4 years, although shaded areas with heavy moss or algae may require more frequent maintenance.

Is pressure washing safe for every surface?

No. Different materials require different cleaning methods. We assess every surface before work begins and choose the safest approach, whether that involves soft washing, controlled pressure washing or specialist treatments.

Will roof cleaning damage my roof tiles?

No. We use cleaning methods that are suitable for your roof type and its condition. Every roof is inspected before work starts to ensure the safest treatment is used.

Can you remove black spots from patios?

Yes. Black spot can be one of the most stubborn forms of staining on patios. We use specialist treatments designed to remove deep-rooted contamination while protecting the surface.

How long do the results last?

The lifespan of the results depends on the surface, surrounding trees, moisture levels and weather conditions. Applying professional Chiltern EverGuard™ biocide treatments helps slow the return of moss, algae and lichen.

Do you offer free site visits in Thame?

Yes. We offer free, no-obligation site visits and will recommend the most suitable cleaning solution based on your property's condition.

Are your cleaning products safe for plants and pets?

Our treatments are applied responsibly and with care. Where specialist products are required, we take appropriate precautions to protect surrounding plants, lawns and outdoor areas.

Which areas around Thame do you cover?

We regularly work throughout Thame, Towersey, Tetsworth, Sydenham, Chinnor, Postcombe, Lewknor, Milton Common and surrounding parts of Oxfordshire.
