Solar Panel Cleaning · 8 towns
South Oxfordshire mixes open arable land, the Thames and the western edge of the Chilterns. Whatever lands on your panels, whether field dust, pollen or bird mess, we wash it off with de-ionised water and a soft brush.

Our Oxfordshire patch
The part of Oxfordshire we serve runs from Henley-on-Thames along the river to Goring and Wallingford, up the escarpment to Nettlebed and Watlington, and out across the farmland towards Thame, Didcot and Oxford. Much of it is open, cultivated country rather than woodland, and that changes what settles on solar glass: less leaf, more fine dust and pollen.
Farmland
Large arable fields surround many Oxfordshire towns and villages. When the soil is worked in spring and autumn, and again through harvest, fine dust lifts on the wind and settles on anything flat that faces the sky. On solar glass it mixes with dew and dries into a thin brown film.
Pollen follows a similar calendar. Oilseed rape, grasses and hedgerow trees release it through spring and early summer, and it sticks where dust alone would blow away. A long dry spell is when the build-up shows most, because nothing rinses even the loose layer. The answer is a gentle clean rather than a hard one: soft bristles and pure water lift the film without scratching the glass or its coating.
Older buildings
Oxfordshire has a great deal of historic property: market-town centres, flint and brick villages, and conservation areas in places such as Henley-on-Thames, Watlington and Thame. On homes like these, panels are frequently kept off the principal roof and placed on a rear slope, a garage, a converted barn or a frame in the garden.
Each of those brings its own access. A low barn roof may sit beside a hedge or a paddock. A ground-mounted frame can be reached panel by panel, so every one is brushed and rinsed individually, frames and edges included. Old tile, slate and leadwork around an array are never walked on, because the pole does the reaching from the ground.
River and hills
The south-east corner is where Oxfordshire turns greenest. Along the Thames, damp air and riverside trees keep roofs wet for longer after rain, and the moss that gathers on a panel's lower frame grows faster there. On the wooded escarpment above, beech and oak drop leaf and sap, and shade slows drying in much the same way.
Eight towns in the county
Each place has a page of its own describing its homes, its setting and how we approach the panels there. The short notes below are a starting point.

From riverside homes to the hillside roads above the town, arrays here meet river damp, mature trees and the birds that follow the Thames.

A Thames market town ringed by open farmland, where pollen and fine field dust settle across arrays through the drier months of the year.
Learn Moreabout Solar Panel Cleaning in Wallingford
Historic market-town roofs and newer edges look out over flat arable land, so harvest dust and pollen are what usually dull the glass.
Learn Moreabout Solar Panel Cleaning in Thame
At the foot of the escarpment, homes face wooded hills on one side and open farmland on the other, and their arrays collect from both.
Learn Moreabout Solar Panel Cleaning in Watlington
In the gap where the Thames cuts through the hills, wooded slopes and riverside gardens bring leaf, sap and bird mess onto the panels.
Learn Moreabout Solar Panel Cleaning in Goring
High in the wooded Chilterns, the village's arrays sit among beech woods and hedgerows, so shade and leaf debris shape every clean.
Learn Moreabout Solar Panel Cleaning in Nettlebed
From Victorian streets to newer suburbs, city arrays pick up traffic film and urban grime as well as pollen from mature street and garden trees.

A fast-growing town whose arrays on estate roofs, extensions and garages sit close to open downland and farmland and the fine dust it carries.

Nothing about the method changes from a village cottage to a city semi; the planning around it does.
We visit, study the array from the ground and note its pitch, orientation, surroundings and what is building up, then explain what we would do and why.
The pole is assembled below the array and the water passed through a de-ionising unit that strips its minerals, so the rinse dries clear instead of leaving spots.
Soft bristles work across each panel to lift dust, pollen film and bird mess. No pressure washer, no detergent and no scraper touches the glass at any point.
Debris lodged along the lower frame and between rows is cleared, since that is where moisture lingers and moss establishes on an otherwise clean panel.
Once the glass has been rinsed and left to dry by itself, we check the whole installation and mention anything we spotted with the seals, frames or fixings.
Our approach
Working from the ground keeps ladders and feet off historic tile, slate and lead, which matters on the period homes found across the county.
No chemicals reach your roof, garden, pond or the field next door. De-ionised water does the cleaning and dries without leaving marks.
We explain what cleaning removes and what it cannot do, and we never promise a figure for the electricity your panels will produce.
A fully insured team, one point of contact and a clear quotation after the visit, so you know exactly what has been agreed before we start.

Questions
Yes. Fine soil lifted from cultivated fields settles on the glass and binds with dew into a film. It is most noticeable after harvest and in dry spells, and arrays on the edge of open farmland usually show it first.
Late spring or summer suits many arrays here, once the heaviest pollen has fallen. Where fields are worked close by, a visit after harvest can make sense too. We will suggest timing at the site visit.
Yes. Ground frames are easier to reach than roofs, so each panel is brushed and rinsed individually with its frame and edges. We also tell you if vegetation beneath the lower row is starting to shade the glass.
Usually, yes. Cleaning with pure water and a soft brush from the ground does not alter the building, and where an array sits on a sensitive roof our method keeps people and equipment off the historic fabric altogether.
Yes. Flat-plate and evacuated-tube systems are cleaned with the same de-ionised water, with more care taken around the manifolds and the seals than on a standard photovoltaic panel.
