Driveway Cleaning · Oxfordshire
From established streets to Ladygrove and Great Western Park, Didcot driveways work hard every day. We clean each one to suit its surface, treat tyre and oil marks separately and finish every restoration with Chiltern EverGuard™.

A working surface
Cars turn and park on it, tyres bring road film onto it, bins are wheeled across it and rain carries fine dirt to its lowest edge. After a few years the entrance can look tired even when the paving underneath is sound. Our job is to separate the dirt from the damage and restore what cleaning can restore.

Didcot housing
Didcot has grown through several distinct periods. Older homes remain around the original village and Northbourne, post-war estates followed, and later growth brought Ladygrove and, more recently, Great Western Park. Each phase laid its drives in the materials of its day.
In the established streets you will find older concrete, tarmac and block paving whose joints have softened over the years. On the newer estates, block paving is common, alongside resin-bound and porcelain entrances on many recent homes. Most of those drives carry daily traffic, and many sit beside lawns, render or timber that need protecting while the paving is cleaned. A mature block-paved drive and a newer resin one need quite different plans.
Usage patterns
Daily use leaves a pattern you can read. Steering on the spot draws dark arcs where tyres scrub, the route the bins take wears a grubby line to the gate, and the rectangle under a parked car stays dry and sheltered while the rest of the drive weathers around it.
We assess those marks separately from moss and algae. General cleaning lifts most road film and tyre marking, while oil receives specialist treatment that significantly reduces most staining. Where a mark has soaked into porous concrete or block, improvement is realistic even when complete removal is not, and we say which you can expect before any work starts.
Newer finishes
Resin-bound surfacing gives a smooth, continuous look, but its textured aggregate holds fine dirt and green film, particularly in shaded corners and low-traffic strips. We clean it at low pressure, using methods chosen for resin-bound systems, with extra attention at edges and transitions. A consistent finish matters more than chasing every small colour variation in the stone.
Porcelain gathers algae and atmospheric grime that make it dull and slippery. It cleans readily, so the care goes into an even result across the slabs and consistent joints. Both finishes, like every drive we restore, are completed with Chiltern EverGuard™.
Established drives
Older concrete is cleaned and treated for deeper staining where it needs it. Older block paving usually needs more: its joints have emptied, collected debris and sprouted weeds, and the blocks may have shifted under years of cars. Our restoration deals with all of that.
Thresholds
Garage thresholds, front steps, gate posts and paths frame a drive. Ignore them and the clean paving stops abruptly against a band of grime. We work carefully up to each edge, and where render, timber, planting or a lawn adjoins the drive, we adjust the method and protect the neighbouring surface first.
Loosened silt and debris are gathered as the work progresses, with channels and gullies kept clear rather than used as a place to wash dirt away.
Five stages
Every restoration runs in this order. The settings and treatments within each stage come from what we saw at the site visit.
At the free site visit we identify the material, look at joints, staining and drainage, and note the turning areas and parking spots where marks are concentrated.
Loose debris is cleared and suitable stains or growth are treated according to what is actually there, rather than with one routine applied to every drive.
The drive is cleaned methodically at the pressure set for its material, with heated water where tolerated and careful work around thresholds, edges and adjoining finishes.
On block paving, the dried surface is compacted with a vibrating plate compactor and every joint refilled with Chiltern Polymeric Sand. Other surfaces are finished to suit their construction.
Every drive receives Chiltern EverGuard™ to help slow regrowth, followed by a final check of the paving, perimeter and drainage points before we hand back.
Realistic results
A restoration can bring back colour, remove established growth, refresh joints and make the entrance look significantly better. It can also make old repairs, cracks or settlement easier to see once the dirt is gone.
It cannot rebuild a failed base, level sunken blocks, reverse crumbling tarmac or repair structural cracks in concrete. Those are separate repairs, and we will point them out rather than hide them behind a clean.
Why us
Tyre arcs, oil, road film and organic growth are each identified and treated as the separate problems they are.
Resin, porcelain, block paving, concrete and tarmac are cleaned at the pressure and with the method that suits each one.
Applied to every drive we restore. Protection typically lasts between 12 and 24 months, depending on location, surface and maintenance.
Fully insured operatives who protect lawns, render and timber at the edges and leave the drive ready to use.

Questions
Usually they improve a great deal. Road film and tyre marks respond well to cleaning, and stubborn turning areas can be treated separately. How much lifts depends on the surface and how deeply the marking has penetrated.
Yes. Resin-bound surfaces are cleaned at low pressure using methods chosen for resin systems, with particular care at edges and worn areas. If the resin is already cracked or loose, we will tell you before work is agreed.
Not always. Specialist treatment significantly reduces most oil staining, but older oil can soak deep into porous concrete or block. We explain the likely level of improvement at the site visit.
Yes. Once the paving has dried, it is compacted with a vibrating plate compactor and every joint is refilled with Chiltern Polymeric Sand as standard on every block paving restoration.
No. Cleaning removes existing growth and the debris in the joints, and full joints of Chiltern Polymeric Sand give weeds far less to work with, but seeds keep arriving and no outdoor paving stays weed-free indefinitely.
Our own treatment, applied after every driveway restoration to help reduce the return of moss, algae and similar growth. Protection typically lasts between 12 and 24 months, depending on the property's location, surroundings, surface type and maintenance.
