The town

A steep historic High Street, offices by the river and working estates

Guildford lies about 41 miles from our base in Marlow, by the M4, the M25 and the A3 Guildford bypass. Its commercial property ranges from the shops, restaurants and offices of the town centre to warehouse units, business parks, schools, colleges and residential blocks run by managing agents.

High Street
Laid with granite setts, the High Street climbs from the River Wey past the Guildhall, with its clock of 1683, to the Jacobean almshouse of 1622 at the top. The town centre is a conservation area where timber frame, refronted brick, painted render, Bargate stone, flint and tile hanging sit side by side, so the method is set front by front.
Offices
Walnut Tree Close, opposite the station, has offices in red-brick buildings and newer blocks, and Guildford Business Park sits just off the A3. Glazed and brick elevations, entrances and car parks are worked zone by zone while staff come and go.
Industrial estates
Slyfield, on Moorfield Road in the north of the town, is Guildford's largest industrial area, and Midleton Enterprise Park on Ladymead added 35 light-industrial and warehouse units in 2023. Clad units, profiled roofs and yards are cleaned around deliveries.
Local conditions
Traffic on the A3, A31 and A25 leaves a film on roadside fronts, and the wooded slopes around the town shade elevations and drop leaves into gutters.
Around Guildford
Merrow, Burpham, Send, Ripley, Worplesdon, Compton, Shalford and Godalming.

Safety and site control

Planned before we arrive

Roofs
We identify the roof covering before any work is proposed and request the asbestos register. Asbestos-cement and fragile roofs are never pressure-washed or walked on.
Wash water
We plan wash-water control and drain protection for every site.
Listed and conservation buildings
We use test areas and low-pressure methods on listed and conservation-area buildings.
Schools and care settings
We work in school holidays and INSET days, or behind exclusion zones away from pupils and residents.

Questions

Common questions

Can you clean listed buildings on Guildford High Street?

Yes. Every front is recorded first, because stone, render, brick and tile hanging can sit side by side, and a test area settles the method before low-pressure cleaning begins.

Can shops on the High Street stay open while you work?

Yes. Each frontage is cordoned in turn and the door stays usable, with the work timed before opening or out of hours when the street is busy.

Do you take on units at Slyfield and Midleton?

Yes. Cladding, roofs, gutters and yards are surveyed together and priced in one fixed-price proposal, with the work sequenced around deliveries.

Can every stain on old stone be removed?

No. Some staining sits deep in soft stone or brick, and the survey sets out the improvement you can expect before work starts.

What should the survey request include?

The address and type of property, whether it is listed, the surfaces involved, access limits and timing. For roofs and gutters, please include the asbestos register and drainage drawings.

Request a Site Survey

Send us the Guildford address and the surfaces you are concerned about. The fixed-price proposal follows the survey and names the method for each surface.
