The town

Schools, business estates and a historic centre

Aylesbury is Buckinghamshire's county town, on the far side of the Chiltern Hills from our base in Marlow. Its property runs from schools and academies to offices, retail premises, managed developments, healthcare settings, industrial units and business parks. Building age, surface materials, nearby roads, trees, shade and the way a site is used all affect the type and rate of exterior soiling, so we survey each surface, the access and the activity that must continue nearby before we price the work.

Schools and academies
Grammar schools and established school sites sit alongside the new schools built with the housing at Kingsbrook. Arrival, collection, break periods, deliveries and community use decide where and when work can happen, and one campus may combine older brick buildings, rendered extensions, modular classrooms, coated cladding, pitched roofs and newer hard landscaping, each specified on its own material and condition.
Town centre
The historic core around Market Square, Kingsbury, Temple Square and St Mary's Square has been a conservation area since 1969 and includes listed buildings. Many of its timber-framed buildings were re-fronted in brick in the 18th and 19th centuries, some since rendered or painted, and most stand at the back of the pavement, so the works are phased zone by zone around entrances and public footways.
Business estates
The Gatehouse and Rabans Lane industrial areas mix offices, trade counters and industrial and warehouse units, with coated cladding, forecourts, service areas and delivery routes to plan around.
One building or an estate
An enquiry may cover a single elevation, a complete school campus or several managed properties; several sites under one contact and one standard are covered by multi-site and portfolio contracts.
Around Aylesbury
Stoke Mandeville, Aston Clinton, Weston Turville, Bierton, Stone, Haddenham, Waddesdon and the surrounding parts of Buckinghamshire.

Safety and site control

Planned before we arrive

Roofs
We identify the roof covering before any work is proposed and request the asbestos register. Asbestos-cement and fragile roofs are never pressure-washed or walked on.
Wash water
We plan wash-water control and drain protection for every site.
Listed and conservation buildings
We use test areas and low-pressure methods on listed and conservation-area buildings.
Schools and care settings
We work in school holidays and INSET days, or behind exclusion zones away from pupils and residents.

Questions

Common questions

Can school exterior cleaning be planned around term dates?

Yes. The timing is agreed at the survey, together with the entrances, pedestrian routes, play areas, vehicle access and occupied zones the working areas must avoid.

Can the work be planned around a business that stays open?

Yes. Deliveries, entrances and customer routes are recorded at the survey, and the works are phased zone by zone behind agreed exclusion areas, so access can be maintained wherever the site conditions allow. Out-of-hours working is available where the site needs it.

Can every exterior stain be removed?

No. The achievable result depends on the depth and nature of the staining within the substrate. Where complete removal cannot be guaranteed, this is identified before works begin and the expected improvement is set out clearly.

What do we receive after the survey?

A fixed-price proposal with a specification of works, programme and exclusions, with no day rates and no overrun charges. When the works are complete you receive a completion report: before-and-after photography, a defect schedule, sign-off and a PPM proposal.

What information should I provide?

The full address or postcode, the property type, the surfaces involved, photographs if you have them, access or safeguarding considerations, operational constraints and your preferred timeframe. For roof or gutter work we also ask for the site's asbestos register and drainage drawings.
