The problem

Dust and debris on difficult-to-reach surfaces

Dust and debris can accumulate on overhead steelwork, beams, pipework and other difficult-to-reach surfaces. Chiltern Surface Co provides carefully planned high-level cleaning to help businesses maintain cleaner, better-managed working environments, with methods selected to suit each building and its operational requirements.

From smaller industrial units to large distribution centres, we assess the site, plan access and carry out the work with minimal practical disruption to your operations.

Planned maintenance

Planned maintenance, not just one-off cleaning

We offer one-off projects and scheduled cleaning programmes. Following a site survey, we can recommend a practical cleaning scope and review frequency informed by the site's needs and applicable risk assessments. Clear fixed-price proposals and before-and-after photographic reporting help facilities teams plan and document the work. Discuss a maintenance plan.

Safety

A considered, safety-led approach

Every project begins with an assessment of the working environment, including access, operations, services and the material to be removed.

Coverage

Areas covered

Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire and Surrey, including Marlow, High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Maidenhead, Reading, Henley-on-Thames and Oxford. Wider projects considered by arrangement. See our commercial locations.

What we do

What we clean

StructuralStructural beams, rafters and overhead steelwork.
Ledges and supportsHigh-level ledges, shelving exteriors and accessible roof supports.
ServicesExternal surfaces of ducting, pipework and cable trays, where safe and authorised.
Other surfacesOther elevated surfaces identified during the site survey.
The right method for the buildingWhere conditions allow, we use high-reach vacuum equipment to clean from ground level. For complex structures or areas that cannot be reached effectively from below, we plan suitable access using powered access or other appropriate methods. The approach is determined by the height, layout, dust characteristics and site restrictions.
Who we work withWarehouses • Distribution centres • Light-industrial units • Manufacturing premises • Commercial property portfolios.
ExclusionsCombustible, potentially explosive or otherwise hazardous dust requires additional specialist assessment and suitable controls; these environments are not included in our standard cleaning scope unless specifically assessed and agreed.

Safety and site control

Planned before we arrive

Roofs
We identify the roof covering before any work is proposed and request the asbestos register. Asbestos-cement and fragile roofs are never pressure-washed or walked on.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can high-level cleaning be carried out without a lift?

Often, yes. High-reach vacuum systems can be suitable for accessible surfaces, but some areas require powered access or another access method. We confirm this during the survey.

Do you clean operational warehouses?

Projects can be planned around site operations, subject to safe segregation, access and the agreed working arrangements. Out-of-hours options can be discussed.

How often should high-level dust be removed?

There is no universal interval for every site. Frequency depends on the dust, rate of accumulation, processes and the site's risk assessment.

Can you remove combustible dust?

Combustible or potentially explosive dust needs specialist assessment and equipment appropriate to the hazards. Such work is subject to separate review and is not assumed to be included.

Do you provide ongoing maintenance?

Yes. We can propose a scheduled cleaning programme following an initial survey and specification of works.

Next step

Arrange a site survey

Tell us about your building, the approximate working height and the areas requiring attention. We'll discuss the scope, access requirements and the most appropriate next steps.
